October

After a delightful breakfast at an outdoor café in a remote location on Lake Langano where we spent the night, our team split and one group headed out to Nazaret, a city of 200k. Here we were greeted with exuberance by the rescued street children of the "Remember the Poorest Community" facility, with gracious hospitality. We were given an in-depth informational tour of this haven which transforms homeless teens. Along with many staggering facts, we have learned that only 3 out of 100 students who are in the program are girls due to the popularity of young teen street prostitution. After praying with the precious worker of this amazing outreach, we proceeded to the Evangelical Churches Fellowship of Nazareth (ECFN) where we lunched and prayed with 6 local pastors. In the afternoon we visited the "Women at Risk" (WAR) center for the rehabilitation of commercial sex workers. Our hearts were touched as we listened to the tender testimony of a young woman who has devoted her life to a full-time ministry here after God delivered her from 8 years of bondage in the profession. Just before the days end, we had the privilege to see Joseph Orphanage. We prayed and asked to fervently pray for the funding of shower and toilet facilities. With heavy hearts, again we have much to pray for in this beautiful country.
