Wednesday, June 28th

Today was a bittersweet day. We departed for Nazret without our wonderful spiritual leader, tour guide, and friend Pastor Mattewos Hambebo. We had the privilege of having the presence of this nurturing man for the last ten days and now we felt like baby birds that had been gently pushed out of their nest and had to learn to fly J. Shortly after we departed for Nazret we experienced our first true rainstorm while traveling. It was as if God felt our sorrow and the sky was shedding our tears.

By midday we felt physically exhausted from traveling and emotionally drained from reflecting on the poverty we had witnessed in Dessie and Roggie. However, the Lord stayed true to his character by always providing and never giving us more than we could bear. We arrived to RPC, Remember the Poorest Community, to a large group of children signing welcome and holding welcome signs. It touched our hearts and fßed our spirits in a way that only could have come from the Lord. This was our introduction to Nazret.
