Prayer Letter

  • 1. Several of us feel vulnerable right now; that we are under attack. We pray for protection. Somebody suggested referring to John 16:33 “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” We also want to SFINC (MPPC motto for these trips: Smile, Flex, Improvise, & No Complaining) during this time.

  • 2. Several of us have “eldercare” issues: Ann, Randy & Julia. We pray that God would especially watch over our families at this time, and be especially attentive to the needs of our elder relatives.

  • 3. Tim left for Ghana on Sunday. This time got out without a hitch. He has called several times since then-- doing well. He’ll arrive in Addis Ababa several days before we do. We pray for his work organizing the septic system for the school in Ghana.

  • 4. We are thankful and grateful for the donations that have come in from several directions. We have paid for our medications; we can probably afford vaccines, especially if we can buy them in Addis! We pray our thanks to the Lord for this.

  • 5. We can pray for a way to acquire vaccines for our trip. We will be asking for contacts in Addis from Project Mercy.

  • 6. Our prayers for team credentialing and work permits has been definitively answer; praise God; He is good.

  • 7. We know God has something in mind by not letting our donkey-loving anesthesiologist come with us this trip. Pray that God would bless him greatly during this entire time.

  • 8. We pray that God would look after the health of all the team members before, during and after the trip.
