Haiti Short Term Mission Trip

February 18 - 26, 2011

Haiti has long been known as the poorest country in the Americas. Making the situation worse, on January 12, 2010, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck the already devastated country. When the terror was over, more than 200,000 people had been killed. In addition to the dead, an estimated 250,000 homes were either damaged or destroyed. Despite the vast amount of money pledged, the country still remains full of rubble and overcrowded tent cities.

On February 18th, 2011 a team of 10 people, from Menlo Park, San Mateo and Mountain View campuses will leave on a short-term mission to Haiti.   With our MPPC ministry partner, Beyond Partnership and under the leadership of Herode Guillomettre, the director of the Christian Center of Integrated Development (CCID) we will be serving alongside the Haitian people, to build a transformational village in the region of Cabraet and holding a VBS for some 300 local Children.

The team is very excited to be going on this first MPPC mission trip to Haiti, and to see how God will use us. We hope you will check back regularly and follow our journey.
