Day 13
The Week 2 Team arrived in Baltimore on Sunday and were greeted by the 4 van drivers, family members and 21 inches of snow. Quite a shock after the 80+ degree temperature at our 5:00 am departure from Los Cedros and Managua. As we left the plane at BWI and circled up one last time for prayer, the noisy crowd around us became absolutely silent. I didn't look up, but was aware that others around us must have stopped and were listening. This may have been one of the best testimonies that we shared, our gratitude to our Lord for all that we have, for safe travel and for His hand in all that was accomplished while we were away. Another testimony to the people of Central Pennsylvania was so very evident at missionary, Sandy Carter's Los Cedros compound. As the sun set and our bus drove up the long drive into the compound on Thurs. eve it was truly heartwarming to see the completed infant orphanage silhouetted against the sky. Last year's team and their supporters had provided the funds to start the orphanage and the construction folks from the team had worked in the heat to lay the footers and the blocks for the building. When we left last year the walls were up a few feet. To see it completed and ready for infants was truly awe inspiring. (Sandy expects to be open in 4 - 6 weeks.)Thank you everyone and most of all, THANK YOU GOD FOR ALLOWING US TO BE A PART OF THIS MINISTRY.
