Day 3

Today our group labored at the Sports Center laying out a regulation baseball field. Some people painted home-run poles and backstop boards a lovely swimming pool blue with the help of local children. While others of our group labored on the field. Jobs included laying out the lines, digging up soil, burning bush, and building a pitcher’s mound.

Some of the workers were dressed for success. Some of the local people came over to see what we were doing and talked un poco. We took time out of our day to enjoy a Pepsi break – Union Rules: Local Chapter 719. To finish out the day we spent some time with the children and had a “wild night” on the town by eating dinner at a local Managuan restaurant.

Evening devotions, lead by Lefty McIntyre, included readings from both the old and New Testament, lively discussion and the singing of three well-known hymns featuring Jan Hill on the guitar.
